Ospreys vs Leicester Tigers Match Preview :
Leicester wings Lee Robinson and Will Hurrell will make their first starts of the season when Tigers face the Ospreys in the LV= Cup tie in Bridgend on Friday.
Preparing for a third fixture in seven days, Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill includes summer signing Robinson and England U20 international Hurrell, a try-scorer in the LV= Cup at Leeds Carnegie last season, while 20-year-old prop Camilo Parilli-Ocampo makes his Tigers debut.
London-born Parilli-Ocampo has played Development XV rugby this season and has travelled with the senior team on league duty to gain experience of the environment.
On-loan scrum-half Jason Spice, who enjoyed spells in Wales with Cardiff Blues and the Ospreys, joins England international centre Dan Hipkiss, hooker Rob Hawkins and Robinson in providing the experienced core of the Tigers line-up. Back-rower Ben Pienaar leads out the side as captain.
Andy Forsyth, Dan Hemingway and Tom Armes, who have been playing Championship rugby with Nottingham, are brought into a squad which also includes full-back Alex Lewington and prop Ryan Bower who were involved in LV= Cup rugby last season.
Scrum-half Sam Harrison is among the replacements on his return from injury. The bench also includes Academy prop Fraser Balmain, flanker Matt Everard and young backs Rory Lynn and Stephen Macaulay.
"All of these guys want an opportunity to show what they can do and this is a chance for us to see what they offer," said Cockerill.
"We have to look at the whole squad and manage that, but this is a good opportunity for some of those younger guys to play for the first team in a tough away game in Wales."
Meanwhile, Ospreys have fourteen players were unavailable because of international commitments. If he comes off the bench, prop Joe Rees will make his Ospreys debut
"It promises to be an excellent occasion on Friday night, Leicester Tigers at the Brewery Field, it has all the ingredients for a memorable evening. As someone who is from the Bridgend area, I think it's fantastic that we've taken the game there," said Jonathan Humphreys.
"The line-ups may be different on Friday, but there's been a healthy rivalry developed between us and the Tigers over last few seasons, and no matter what players they send out to face us, we know what to expect.
"We took a pretty youthful team to Newcastle last weekend and they showed real character and spirit to stand up to what was a very difficult challenge. To go 13-0 down early on could have seen them drop their heads, but they stuck to the task, fought their way back into the game and very nearly snatched victory, showing the characteristics that we want to see from Ospreys players."
